Policy in Action Scholarship Currently Accepting Applications

At Powell Law Offices, P.C., we want to uplift students who are interested in looking critically at politics. Many people who graduate with a degree in political science go on to become politicians, lawyers, policy analysts, journalists, and other positions that play a crucial role in examining the theory and practice of government. 

To support the budding careers of political science majors, we are offering the Policy in Action Scholarship. The winner will receive $1,000 to cover expenses such as tuition, the cost of educational materials, and room and board.

Qualifying for the Policy in Action Scholarship

All students interested in applying for the Policy in Action Scholarship must meet the following requirements:

  1. You must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in political science.
  2. You must have a GPA of 3.5 or above.
  3. Your household income must not exceed $50,000.
  4. You must be at least 17 years old.
  5. You must be a citizen of the United States.

Applying for the Policy in Action Scholarship

We ask that all applicants attach proof of their household income (such as FAFSA), proof of enrollment at an accredited college or university, and evidence of the achieved GPA. As part of your application, we ask that all students answer the prompt to the right in video format in 1 to 2 minutes:

Evaluation of Submissions

Your video response will be evaluated based on these criteria:

  • Clarity: Do you fully address the prompt in your response?
  • Narrative: Do you give strong reasons for wanting to pursue a career in political science?
  • Delivery: Is your response clearly rehearsed and delivered with confidence?
